Translation

My name is Lilian Menacho Garcia I am a housewife and I am 27 years old. I have a two year old son and I am expecting my second child.

I used to live in the country and I only studied until fourth grade; for my family it was never important to go to school, they always would say that it was a waste of time, I liked to go to school and also liked to play with my friends, so I grew up having only the knowledge that I had a that time. As the years went by, I was forgetting almost all because I did not review any books, but suddenly one day I saw many women across the street from my house with their books and a young woman who was teaching them; one day I approached her and I asked. I was informed that they were from Alfalit, Alphabetization (Literacy), I did not hesitate a second and decided to enroll, the facilitator gave me all the necessary books for my learning and thanks to the classes from the Alfalit facilitator, I improved and learned many more things. Now I can add, subtract, multiply and divide, I also know what a syllable is and I like language arts and all that I have learned in these courses. I am motivated to continue to study. Now I am in the CEMA and I am enrolled in fifth & sixth grade until I finish high school and if God permits, I will start a class in the university. I am very satisfied and happy to have been part of Alfalit and I hope that many persons follow my example.

Cordially,

Lilian Menacho
