The Miami Springs Lions Club donated 11,000 pairs of eyeglasses to Alfalit International this summer. We are very grateful to Lion Richard Barnes, a retired optometrist for choosing to give so generously. As we serve the neediest individuals, we often find that they cannot access or afford eye care. This impedes their learning ability in the classroom as well as engagement in social and economic activities.
In August, our Program Director, Juan Marcos Bello delivered 1,000 pairs of these glasses to Alfalit’s affiliate program in Peru. We are proud to serve our students beyond their immediate learning needs!
