Dr. Chihulume has led Alfalit Mozambique since 2022. He is an ordained pastor of the United Methodist Church in the Mozambique Episcopal Area since 1997. He grew up in the small village of Xinavane, in the northern part of Maputo Province, a village populated by people from all over Mozambique that came to work for the sugar plantations. His father, an employee of the sugar mills, later founded a United Methodist congregation and became the pastor to the community.
Zefanias holds a PhD in education from UNIMEP, SP, Brazil; a master’s degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri; and a bachelor’s degree in Theology from Africa University in Zimbabwe. His education and calling to serve God’s people have allowed him to develop a multi-faceted career as a minister in the church and a certified educator. He and his wife are the parents of three children.
